Greenwich Water Polo Teams Qualify for 2010 Junior Olympics Tournament in July/August
Greenwich Water Polo qualified 6 teams (in all age-gender groups in which it competed) to be the Northeast Zone representatives to the 2010 Junior Olympics Tournament to be held in Southern California in late July and early August.
The 12-Under Girls, 14-Under Girls, 14-Under Boys and 18-Under Boys teams qualified in first place for the Northeast Zone. The 12-Under Boys and 16-Under Boys teams qualified in second place.
No other club outside of California qualified so many teams to the tournament for the coming year. Way to go GWP!
Matt Weber Named to US Junior National Team
Matt Weber, 17, who has grown up playing for Greenwich Water Polo and now is in-coming captain of the Greenwich High School Boys Water Polo team was recently named to the USA Junior National Training Team.
After scoring nine goals in an 18-15 win over the Southeast team in the 92 & under East-West All Region Tournament, GWP's Matt Weber was named to the All Region - All Tournament Team and selected for the Junior National Training Team. Congratulations Matt!!
